A dedicated scholar and educator bridging traditional Islamic jurisprudence with contemporary community engagement.
Sheikh Mohamed Hamdu Rasho was born on August 16, 1989, in Dalocha, Ethiopia. He currently serves as the Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Abu Bakr in Addis Ababa, and is a candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) at the Islamic University of Minnesota, USA.
With over 25 years of devoted study and teaching in Islamic sciences, Sheikh Muhammed has committed his life to education, scientific research, and dawah. His core disciplines include Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Hadith sciences, Quranic exegesis (Tafsir), Aqidah (creed), and the Prophetic Seerah.
He has served as the official translator of Friday sermons (Khutbah) and Islamic lessons at Ansar Masjid in Addis Ababa for more than 12 years, and has been educating students in Islamic Shariah at Meweda High School for over 8 years. He also serves as a researcher in the Scientific Research Department of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council.
As an active television preacher and educator, Sheikh Muhammed produces weekly instructional broadcasts across Ethiopian Islamic satellite channels, including Africa TV, Bilal TV, and Zawiya TV, conveying classical Islamic wisdom with clarity and warmth.
